Recently I became aware that the doctoral-level "Fellow Program in Management" (FPM) recognized by qualification offered by various reputed academic institutions in India is not recognized as equivalent to PhD in Malaysia and Australia and even in India AIU recognition is necessary. In fact, I was shocked to hear that many of my senior academic colleagues has been terminated due to non recognition by AIU although FPM is recognized by AICET. I think, there is an urgent need of MHRD interference

In continuation of the previous post, this gives exposure to Indian doctoral students to other research labs, access to faculty members from other institutions, and also seeing how their peer graduate students are working in an international setup. There is a newly announced MITACS Scholarship which enables Canadian graduate students to spend a term in India, and it will be nice if there is a similar scholarship setup from the Indian side for the Indian graduate students to spend a term abroad.

I am a Professor in Comp. Sci in Canada. In last 4-5 years, we had doctoral students from Indian institutions (IISc, TIFR, IITs, ISI) visiting us to do research for a period of 4-6 months under the Canada Commonwealth Scholarship. They carried research work jointly with us. The research work lead to several publications as well as part of their thesis. This scholarship is on hold in Canada. Is it possible to start a competitive scholarship so that the doctoral students can spend a term here?

UGC/AICTE,Our Institutions and Universities need to study the syllabus of Job oriented Master Degree programmes offered by top universities around the world in various discipline including Management, Engineering, Law etc and develop and offer similar type of programs relevant to Indian conditions quickly so that Indians can study in India and India can become the next higher education destination. If this is not possible ,please allow reputed foreign universities to start campus in India

I think something on lines of DAAD fellowships (http://www.daaddelhi.org/en/) should be implemented. It not only helps in collaborations and exchange of knowledge but a powerful tool in managing foreign relations and creating goodwill.

Online Education system, Telecast Lectures, Collaborations with advanced Universities should be promoted for higher education. This way students will not need to go abroad for higher studies and spend lots of money.

Failure system till 8th needs to be re-introduced.The curriculum needs to be re-framed with the traditional education inputs where quality was one of the prominent motto.Special focus on mathematics is the need of the hour ,as present day NCERT Maths. books are very diluted in mathematical concepts rather they seem to be some language books to be read.Last but not the least Moral Education needs to be introduced in the modern materialistic world with ancient Indian Cultural Inputs.

Barring some select institutions like IIT/IIM/ BITS/ SRCC etc no one is imparting quality education which is recognised internationally. Hence the quality of higher education leaves a lot to be desired. Upgrading teaching systems and creating world class educational institutes by the state and private should be the need of the hour. Good quality students still prefer to go overseas as admissions are easier andior quality of education is far super
