Now smriti iarani is passing an IIM bill to get PGDM of IIMs internationalized but then what about the rest of the PGDM graduates from 4000 collges who cannot apply for PHD program because its a diploma and not a degree according to global standards . Their future is dark as even GOVT PSU not accepting the PGDM for Mnanagemtnt trainees. Should'nt the scope of this bill be extended to all PGDM colleges so that they can be brought to main stream. Why only IIMs???

Forget about internationalization , Indian PGDM equivalent to MBA is not accepted by govt pSU like ONGC for recruitment purpose for MArketing or finance trainees. ONLY MBA is accepted . Such is the state of Management education in india. To open a MBA college , permision and clearance are granted by AICTE which is a body for taking care of technical education . 4000 MBA colleges exist in india with dismal quality education.

To start with encourage Indian universities for collaborating with countries of central Asia, south Asia and Indo - China for teaching and learning. Efforts should be put to attract students from these countries for higher studies. Courses should be designed for country specific needs and in the languages of these countries if possible.

Talking Internationalization of Higher education is show of. Really, the quality of higher education in India is very low and requires to devise a new mechanism for enhancing it.In India, So many peoples have degree of higher education but unemployed.IS there any gap between academia and industry? Who is responsible for this pathetic condition of Higher education? Is the UGC doing its duty sincerely for which it was formed?

In India, university education system is in the state of frustrate and disrepair. Due to low quality education, the students’ enrollments in technical education are abysmally low in almost seventy percentages of the districts of India. In India, almost sixty six percentages of total universities and ninety percentages of technical colleges are rated as below average on quality parameters. There are so many institutes and university are facing acute problem of admission, placement, good faculty.

To start with there are many people of Indian origin working in foreign institutions who will see this as a way to connect to their origins. In addition, foreign faculty who have interest in different aspects of study of a developing nation as that of ours would be willing to visit and establish relationship with us. We could capitalize on that and move forward for knowledge sharing and the rest.

CBCS will help student mobility across Indian institutions. We need to see mechanisms for student mobility across globe. For domains of study that would benefit from teacher mobility from across globe, if we bring in a welcome environment to attract faculty for teaching here for a quarter/trimester/quarter, then we will have the benefit of faculty teaching in other countries.

I see few foreigners doing their project at IITs. I think our premier institutes like IITs, AIMS, IIITs and NITs should be opened to foreigners slowly by increasing their capacity as well. This will help each of these institutes generate more revenue to improve quality even more and other private and public institutes to improve as well. Institutes should be eligible to do this based on some kind of minimum requirements which can be thought upon.

International faculty who are on their sabatticals need to be linked with Indian varsities. Foreign eminent Professors need to be invited in India. Also, the syllabus needs to be of international standards and at par with highest standards. Video conferencing with Nobel laureates, Researchers and other persons of eminence can be done so as to benefit Indian students.

I have been studying in the US for the past 8 years, and in this time frame I came across a lot of great faculty members who had a strong influence on my life. Among those were also a strong population of Indian-American faculty members, who on the side, work on projects relating to India. I recommend the government to make a list of such professors overseas and ask from them, recommendations to enhance the syllabus, teaching techniques, etc. for the Indian Education system.
