Inviting Ideas for Mann Ki Baat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30th August 2026

My Humble Suggestion to Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Tumakuru district of Karnataka, especially the Koratagere region, is known as an important centre for the cultivation of the rare medicinal plant Baje (Vacha – Acorus calamus / Sweet Flag). This valuable plant is deeply connected with India's Ayurvedic heritage and traditional agricultural wisdom. Tarati village was once especially known for its cultivation. Today, water scarcity, environmental changes and market challenges threaten this rare crop and the livelihoods of its farmers. I humbly request you to highlight such rare medicinal crops through Mann Ki Baat and encourage greater support for their farmers through scientific training, quality planting material, research, value addition, market linkages and conservation initiatives.
