The Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued draft rules to ensure ease of using drones in India on the basis of trust, self-certification, and non-intrusive monitoring. The Drone Rules, 2021, once notified, will supersede the UAS Rules, 2021, which came into force on March 12 this year.

The Rules aim to make the process of owning, possessing, exporting, importing, manufacturing, trading, leasing, operating, transferring, or maintaining a drone in India, simpler and hassle-free. For that, the draft rules seek to abolish the requirement of various approvals, ranging from certificate of conformance, certificate of maintenance, import clearance, to student remote pilot licences.

Besides, it proposes the development of drone corridors for cargo deliveries and a drone promotion council to be set up to facilitate a drone-friendly regulatory regime in the country.

Click here to view The draft of Draft Drone Rules, 2021, which is issued for public consultation for seeking feedback and suggestions.

The last date of submission is August 5, 2021.

@mygovindia * if possible then please increase the 15meters limit to 50meters for light weight drones as with 15 meter limit we can fly drone only where plan surface. * Drone pilots need to have license annually and this process suppose to be easy online registration. (like online shopping) for that need to have any government approved document.

1. Make dron as license based device like Guns 2. Drons can not be purchased by general public for fun 3. Drons can only be allowed for official use like Police, Firebrigade....or on approval basis by media. 4. Drons approved shall have some approved signals/ codes 5. Airports, Police station, ,military areas shall be no drone zone except for emergencies 6. Indigenous anti drone system (detect + destroy) have to be developed as imported technologies are expensive.

New Rules try to address the points raised by stakeholders on the earlier rules, while also addressing security issues. The Rules attempt to lay the foundation for the operation of drone taxis, dedicated corridors for cargo deliveries and improved airspace map. The formulation of these Rules was challenging as the Unmanned Aircraft System had to be integrated with the National Airspace System. Further, they aim to ease ownership and use of drones by industries and boost technology development

Hello, Many of the rules need to be amended in case of drone. Today,we see drones everywhere in our day to day life. In wedding, parcel delivery, etc. Many a times the drone users are not very skilled in flying drones. So, it's a request that the flying license like it is present for car driving license and also there needs to be the drone number so that government would have the list of drones and their owners.I think this would be better step for reducing the drone attacks.Alsothereberestriction
