The Government has reviewed the existing draft National Youth Policy, 2014 and prepared a new draft National Youth Policy (NYP). The draft NYP envisages a ten - year vision for youth development that India seeks to achieve by 2030. It is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and serves to 'unlock the potential of the youth to advance India'.

The draft NYP seek to catalyze widespread action on youth development across five priority areas viz. education; employment & entrepreneurship: youth leadership & development; health, fitness & sports; and social justice. Each priority area is underpinned by the principle of social inclusion keeping in view the interests of the marginalized sections.

The Department of Youth Affairs seek comments/views/suggestions on the draft NYP from all stakeholders.

Please refer to the policy document: Draft National Youth Policy (PDF 1.23 MB)

while I appreciate this effort. I see there are 2 issues in this. the education and employment. these people should be given option to study on distance education while in job and also there should be specific percentage of quota in educational institutions for these young people. also there should be special recognisition and benefit given to private sector institution if they recruit people who have served army under agni path this will help to sort the employment issue

Could there be some quota/credit points/priority assigned for Agniveers in the selection process for various Centre/State police/allied services - similar to what we have for sportsmen/ex-servicemen - once they come out after 4 years? Could there be such provision in admission to Universities in case they wish you pursue graduation? Could there be such provision for re-entry through officer-level exams in armed forces later - once the ex-agniveer completes her education?

Make sure to include a thorough communication strategy as a part of any new National Youth Policy - especially if it aims at bringing about a quantum change in the current way of doing the things.

The new Agnipath scheme is a golden opportunity for the youth who like physical work and discipline. The National Youth Policy should promote this scheme in the years ahead.

To, The National Institution for Transforming India. A brief thanks for all the welfare schemes. Yet, being poor in this materialistic world amidst the rise of various Govt. schemes the poor continued to suffered more. I wondered if the world we're building is becoming a threat to those whom the govt believes thier initiatives had reached. I would like to suggest that welfare schemes reaches the right man in needs and not only the relatives of the High Post holder. Awaits appropriate measures. Thank you Ruvezo Nienu Nagaland 797001.
