Kalyan-Dombivli has been short-listed as one of the 100 cities in India to be developed as a SMART City under the SMART Cities Mission. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is in the process of preparing a Smart City Proposal to compete in the nation-wide Smart City Challenge. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation seeks the valuable inputs of the citizens to assist in the preparation of smart city vision. We request you to share your thoughts and aspirations on this discussion forum. The needs, aspirations and dreams of the citizens are to be articulated through the SMART CITY vision. KDMC is looking for active participation of the citizens to understand their likes and dislikes about the city, the city features to leverage for smart city development, and thoughts for optimum utilization of the city resources. The suggestions are welcomed on various smart solutions for urban services like water supply, sewerage, solid waste management; aesthetics, transport, health, e-governance and IT interventions.

Warm regards! While planning on complete new idea of smart city, make sure that in master plans there must be provision for children play areas, open ground, at least one in two wards specially in areas like khadakpada, adharwadi, parnaka, lal chowky, and other nearby places which lacks open free space viz play areas.

35. Railways station to have proper fencing and security 36. Electronic services for ticketing and season tickets 37. Cleaniness and maintenamce of railways stattions is must 38. Metro services 39. Wifi across the city 40. Emergency helplines and medical seevices booth within 5 kms reach 41. Childrens playground and old age parks to be built within certain radius

30. Qualified doctors, engginners, teachers to be appointed in govt sector with well paid salaries 31. Service sector like banking, IT and manufacturing zones to be build offering companies opprt to invest and start up 32. Healthcare, schools and universities to have world class services both govt and private 33. Increase min wages of employees to have a good standard of living for each citizen of that city 34. Public transport to increase services and provide more connectivity within city

25. Employment services and min wages to have a good standard of living 26. No banners and bills on street or walls.. there should be section allotted and should be paid services.. this will make city look cleaner and better 27. buildings and houses age more than 30 years should sent for redevelopment to have strong infrastructure 28. skybridge, underpass and subways to be build (explore underground cities) 29. govt hospitals to have standard and world class services better than private hosp

21. automated tracking of fines and penalty to be done..no fines to be paid to any officials and to be paid to govt acct directly and warnings and court orders to be send to those defaulters 22. Afforadable govt housing with electricity, water supply, cleaniness to be maintained by appointed firms. 23. Housing to be provided to every resident below poverty line ensuring certian paramters for applying for the house

14. Fines to be imposed on spitting, littering , illegal parking 15. CCTV on each lanes 16. Small neighbourhood police station with 24 ×7 monitoring and survillience 17. Street lights on each and every lane and street and periodic maintenance 18. No hawkers to be allowed on footpath and street and hawker centres to be opened at each 5 km radius 19. Traffic control and monitoring with helment cumpolsory with fine imposed 20. Fines to be collected and paid by KIOSK station online channel

7. ZEBRA crossing and proper marking on each roads and lanes 8. Green sign boards for address and landmarks at each 500 meters 9. Disable access busses , lanes ,lifts,railway stations to be made compulsory 10. periodic road maintenance with concrete roads and markings on each roads 11. Min 2 lane roads for driving on each side 12. Sewages and flood preventation mechanism 13. Garbage bin at every 10meters of roads, bus stops, railway stations,buildings to be compulsory

My suggestion 1. City landscape need to change with more trees plant along the roads, grass carpets to be placed along the areas 2. plantation of trees should be given to a private firm along with landscape development 3. governance on these private firms and SLA and deadlines and reports to be submitted on time and fines and penalties to be applied 4. ROAD ways and connextivity to other major cities 5. Footpaths to be built all along the roads 6.Traffic singals on each roads

Traffic control at Kalyan station is a headache for citizens.Making some ways as one-way. Restricting entry of auto-rikshaws an tangas up to some distance (entrance of sky-walk) from the station can help to solve the problem.

Make people aware that there is a site http://www.kdmc.gov.in . Ask people to put complaints and suggestion after log in with there ids in order to avoid fake complaints and suggestion. Make all complaints and suggestions visible to everyone. If this makes some impact, develop an app for the same.
