Kalyan-Dombivli has been short-listed as one of the 100 cities in India to be developed as a SMART City under the SMART Cities Mission. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is in the process of preparing a Smart City Proposal to compete in the nation-wide Smart City Challenge. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation seeks the valuable inputs of the citizens to assist in the preparation of smart city vision. We request you to share your thoughts and aspirations on this discussion forum. The needs, aspirations and dreams of the citizens are to be articulated through the SMART CITY vision. KDMC is looking for active participation of the citizens to understand their likes and dislikes about the city, the city features to leverage for smart city development, and thoughts for optimum utilization of the city resources. The suggestions are welcomed on various smart solutions for urban services like water supply, sewerage, solid waste management; aesthetics, transport, health, e-governance and IT interventions.

The last date to submit your comments is 4th December, 2015.

Warm regards of the day! I am fully agreed with Mr.Vijay Rana. There is need of footpaths and that to not like current skywalk which is not having any maintenance. It is like once built and forgotten. Kdmc have footpaths at present, but the situation is that they have been illegally captured by hawkers, shops, etc. Make footpaths for public and not for hawkers. This is the thing I want to discuss on KDMC as smart city. Thank you.

Need flyovers for better traffic movements. Improve the road conditions. Formation of satis for the bus traffic like at the Thane station. More connecting roads from west to east. These are a step towards a Smart City.

No Smart City Without Footpaths. Pl make walkable, stumble-free, and encroachment-free footpaths in every smart city for ordinary citizens, particularly for the elderly and children. There cannot be a smart city without footpaths.

Smart City #Kalyan 1.A better garbage collection and disposal. 2.Traffic signals at all major Junction. 3.Crackdown on traffic rule violators. 4.Better Traffic movement outside Kalyan and Dombivli Station. Don't issue anymore permits to autos,there are more autos than required. 5.CCTV cameras for public safety. 6.A modern Police Station like newly inaugurated NRI police station in Navi Mumbai,as well as modern police check posts. 7.An international style Kalyan Railway Station. kindly work on below point first 1. clean the city arrange to clear garbage from road side and from each society 2. Repair roads and construct good quality roads 3.Provide Street light in each road.Total Kalyan shil road is dark, though light posts are already available but light don't glow in any light posts 4.Kindly manage the traffic infront of palava city it is terrible during 6 PM to 9 PM. 5.it is a facts that after 67+ years of independence also we are still searching for basic needs.

Forget about smart city, we will be happy if it become atleast city. Worst munciple corporation, Can you imagine city like kalyan dont have flyovers on spots like station road, shivaji chowk. From Thane we reach kalyan bypass in 35min but from there onward to reach so call city take 1hr. Current situation: No major hopsital Full of illegal construction So much illegal hawking so much illegal parking No management waste
