As part of the 'Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, a series of events are being organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Through this MyGov activity, we aim to revisit history and acknowledge our local heroes whose struggles during the Freedom Movement have not received prominence in the conventional storyline. Let's raise awareness about our freedom struggle & the unsung heroes associated with it. It’s time that the contributions of fighters like Veer Gundandhur, Velu Nachiyar, Bhikaji Cama, etc. see the light of the day.

This is your chance to tell the story that must be told and honour the freedom fighters who have played an important role in making our nation free.

Share the stories with all the details and celebrate Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with us.

Submission of Entries:
• All the entries must be submitted online through www.mygov.in
• No other medium of submission will be accepted
• Share the following details while mentioning the story of our Unsung Fighter so that everybody can know more about them:

2. Age
3. Address
4. District
5. State
6. Stories About their Contribution to Freedom Movement
7. Photos (if any)
8. Link to Videos/Audios (if any)

Madhab Singh Bariha or Madho Singh (Odia: ମାଧୋ ସିଂହ) was the Binjhal Zamindar (landlord) of Ghess locality of Bargarh district in Odisha and was a close associate of Veer Surendra Sai in the Sambalpur uprising against the British East India Company. He was hanged to death at the age of 72 on 31 December 1858 at Jail Chowk of Sambalpur, after being caught in the same year for his ferocious and heroic resistance to the British takeover of the region with their appalling policies. Three out of his four valiant sons were martyred while the eldest was sentenced to life imprisonment.[1] His granddaughter Purnima committed suicide after the British hanged her rebellious husband from the Sonakhan Zamindari at Raipur.

justice Khaparde of Maharashtra
he was the judge who fought against the British legally. freedom fighters were arrested and sentenced to death. there was no representation fr these fighters.
justice Khaparde signed the sentence that freedom fighters would be hanged . the British hanged the freedom fighters but he stopped the hanging mid way since the legal judgement called only for hanging the fighters which was performed. it is due to him the British amended their legal judgement to hanged until death. this was done to prevent this legal loophole from being exploited.

justice Khaparde is the great grandfather of professor Khaparde of KJSCE mumbai mech department
