Start Date :
Apr 28, 2016
Last Date :

Dear Citizens of Rajkot, ...
Roads in Rajkot remain congested throughout the day. Provision for expansion in future, parking facilities, bus bylanes, pedestrian foot paths should be integral part of roads made in future
The city governance should work on creation of avenues for better interaction with the citizens
Better quality education and health facilities should be provided in the city
The city is gifted with natural vonkalas. greenways should be created along the vonkalas which would act as the lungs of the city
Lack of adequate green spaces in the city is another key concern. provide more parks and greenspaces, also plant trees (most effective against heat) along major roads
Water is a big problem in the city. Until that is solved, Rajkot can never aspire to be a smart city
Traffic problem in the city is one of the worst. Three pronged plan to address this should be
1) Expand public transport
2) Proper route planning
3) Efficient and transparent enforcement of traffic rules
Citizen engagement strategy for RMC. A clear communication and citizen engagement plan should be prepared and executed . This should be channeled so as to include the senior citizens as well as the tech savvy new generation students and youth
The bigger the city grows the greater the solid waste challenge. To meet the future needs proper scientific treatment and disposal of waste should be initiated right away
Solar power should be effectively tapped in public transport systems, office buildings and if possible residential buildings as well. This will bring down the overall usage of thermal power and reduce the load on the network
