Education is considered as the backbone of development, both at the individual household and societal levels. Educating the tribal children has been a challenge for the Government for various socio-cultural, economic, ecological and administrative reasons. Government is redesigning its strategies to create an enabling ecosystem of equal opportunity for quality education for ST children.

One of the major concerns of Tribal education is the low ST literacy rate and high ST drop-out rate.

Reducing the ST drop-out rates in Class I to X is a challenge. Bringing them back and to gainfully utilizing those who have already dropped out requires extreme care, sensitivity, imagination and meticulous planning.

Through this platform, Ministry of Tribal Affairs invites ideas, suggestions, views, opinions, solutions, criticism, and best practices from citizen for innovative interventions.

If we cant get good teachers to tribal children lets get the children into virtual classrooms conducted by the best teachers. The Pratham NGO has been experimenting with a technology pioneered by Vodafone foundation to make virtual classrooms work for remote areas. Its called the Webbox technology and can do wonders for getting quality education to remote areas. For more visit the Pratham website www.Pratham.org and look for digital classrooms

Gadchiroli is Naxal affected district of maharashtra, To curb Naxal is duty of state and central government and government officers, government officers are getting 15 to 50 per_cent more payment and other facilities since 2002 but yet naxal movement could not stopped. Development of gadchiroli district is very slow. Instead of giving more payment and facilities to government officers give more facilities to tribal youth for self employment and constitute Tribal battalion to fight against Naxal,

instead of blindly punishing teachers and principals; their has to be a dynamic approach. I have seen that on petty issues responsible and genuine principals are being suspended . Their has to be a dynamic approach and good teachers and good principals will give a very strong foundation to girl child education and education as such!!

Tribal development has been hampered due to corruption. For exampin tribal areas a bjp ruled ruled state has given lot of relaxation in payment of wages in tribal areas ostensibly for benefit of tribals but the real reason being letting govt functionaries black money.

Dear Sir, Now BJP is in center and also in two states having large tribal population, namely Jharkhand and Chattisgarh. Please initiate your genuine efforts to bring the tribals to the national mainstream, ending decades of administrative partialities against them. It is the GOLDEN CHANCE for BJP to solve the naxal problem, not by force but by integrating these people also in nation building. We have blamed Pakistan for problems in J & K, but for naxal problem only we are to blame ourselves.

Introduction of quality midday meal scheme.healthy and variation in food.Imparting education to these students in a simple and playing manner so that study becomes easy to them.Difficulty in study may cause early dropouts.Since these students are source of alternate income to their families ,employment to their parents may reduce dropout.Establishing new schools in areas densely inhabited by ST people. There is dearth of schools there.Teaching staff to these schools should be from nearby areas.
