With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

Dear Sir,
I purchased a property (residential complex at Pune) recently (in Jan-2017) which is under construction and is at very early stage.
1) Post GST what will be the status on the cost I will have to pay?
2) How is the Input Tax Credit will be transferred to end consumer?
3) At what rate GST is applicable in case of property under construction?
4) Some of the builders are selling property at zero % GST, what does that means?
5) My cost of project will be increasing or decreasing?

Being in the private transport industry, want to ask the GST Parishad one question.'Your slogan is One Nation One Tax' but in actual field states like Assam, Bihar and West Bengal which are already in backseat in industry and commerce sectors notified for inward permit for the movement of goods, which pushing these states in more worsen conditions. Traders having difficulties for collecting these inward permits and transporters are logged with their goods in godowns. What is solution?

GST in Health Insurance or Mediclaim Policies should be the Minimum slab...not 18%... because it is neither a luxury sector or nor an avoidable sector... today its a compulsory sector like fooding/clothing/housing... So every citizen should come forward and enroll him/herself...and Govt. need to promote this with lowest tax slab/no tax slab.
