With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

A lot of websites have been spreading false stories on GST ever since it's launch. I have made a video on how people should not fall for fake stories or sensational headlines, which present theories rather than facts. In this era of clickbait news, it's important for people to check the credibility of the author and website before reading any post on GST.

Regards,
Sanat

Respected sir I am Rashmi from Kharghar Navi Mumbai My daughters are going in a dance academy to learn dance. That academy owner is forcing us to pay fee either in cash or if we want to pay by cheque or card she will impose 18% GST on us as per her CA's instructions. I don't want to pay cash . At the same time I don't want to pay 18% GST because it's their liability to pay and they are compelling us toay . Either I will have to go by illegal means or have to withdraw my kids.

Dear Hon.Modiji
We all Bhartiya love our country and respect your wisdom. Pertaining to Gst we have seen many restaurants are charging Gst in the tune of 28% where in many times they don't return bill. Or even not accounting also. Why don't government allow us to take credit of same so as gov can verify and track that bills are accounted and black money creation can be stopped. Or else general public is paying hafety amount towards Gst and which is being increasing unaccounted profit of them.🙏

‘Power corrupts and the absolute power corrupts absolutely.’ Absolute powers without any liability/ accountability for Delay in Refunds, Perverse Orders /Actions/ should be balanced with the equal provisions for Interest, Penalty and liability/ accountability on the department also through State Level Committee.Anti-profiteering clause should be kept in abeyance till adequate rules & procedures and the committee is formed.-Kailash Agrawal-Raipur C.G.
