With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

Life Insurance by individuals is often neglected by them. GST of 18% oninsurance premium is discouraging. GST for life insurance products may be reduced to lower tax slab to ensure greater penetration of life insurance policies.

Seek understanding on gst rules.

1. The Freight rule of charging freight in invoice @ of gst applicable on the goods being supplied in the invoice.

I see supplier misusing the rule; the get on transportation paid by the supplier is 5% however he charges the buyer as per the gst applicable on the material being supplied.

When anyways the set off is being credited at every level why such consolidation rule?

I think private hospitals in india should be given some guidelines/instructions as they are charging impractically from the patients.Govt has absolutely no control over them.
Major steps need to be taken in this regard.

As per income tax.only business expenses are allowed to be booked as exoenses..i think all payments/expenses done online/non cash...should be allowable so that people will shift to online paym and this will discourage cash transactions and people will stop accumulating/spending in cash as this will give them loss of income tax.
Every citizen should be made to pay min income tax of rs.100/- per month which can be called as Strong india Contributions.
