Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

I agree to you Mr. Anil. Here we have been suffering in India due to negligence and meaningful behaviour of many State and Central Govt. officials as well in the banking sector. On one side Modi ji trying to upgrade and overhal the system with new energy, on the other side these people are not even trying to understand the change in environment as well. That is the reason most of the NRI do not want to get in here with their hardearnbed valuables. I hope u agree to me...

NRIs from South Gujarat landing in Mumbai are continuously harassed and troubled by the Maharashtrain Traffic police. Why is this practise so rampant? The easier solution is to have an international airport in Surat, but why can't we have police who treat all citizens equally irrespective of your political connections or model of the car you are driving? Why would anyone want to come back to your country where you are harassed on arrival?

I am a UK citizen(NRI) and I work in the healthcare instudtry. I saw an article about Indian Healthcare Systems which was very concerning (I shall link in the replies). I suggest regulating health care industry. India is well known for health tourism & if it has robust regulatory systems in place it can capitalize on hugely talented skill set it possesses. I suggest setting up a regulatory body who inspect & regulate clinics & hospitals for their Quality & Safety. Replicate AIIMS across India.

I am a US citizen of Indian origin currently living in India for more than 6 years and my concern is about the objection Indian and Foreign Banks show to people like us for Investing in Mutual funds citing FATCA rule imposed by US Gov on all financial institutes to declare the investments made by US citizens abroad. We have been welcomed by the GoI to come to India and invest but on reaching India, the picture is completely different. Can Modi Sir help?

Can science from ancient Indian knowledge system give India leadership?
Like “Vasudaiva kudum bakam” is a universal framework for life and living, yoga foe healthy living and Sanskrit is at the root of many languages, is there a possibility to derive from ancient Indian knowledge system a new framework for science?
With current science’s underlying framework of studying only matter as a closed loop causal system, asking if science in ancient India used the same framework is important

Allowing NRIs to invest in Agriculture business will transform India's rural economy similar to technology area. There are many who would like to return to India and engage in Agriculture business but NRIs are not allowed to buy agriculture land and engage in agriculture activities. It is unfortunate that 65% of population in India which lives in rural areas are deprived of NRI intellect, investment and engagement. I hope we can have a study initiated to quantify the potential of NRIs in agri.

Solving India's energy problem: Dear Modiji. Have you heard about thorium reactors? I did some research on youtube and it seems they are the best reactors which regenerate their fuel and catalysts. Best of all they do not use high pressure steam. I am not sure if that is part of the plan. Unlike uranium Thorium is available in abundance and a lot in India. Happy Republic day to you. Namaste.
