Reimagining Skill India 2.0: Inviting creative ideas and suggestions to help reinvent the
landscape of skilling in India

The Government has reimagined Skill India 2.0, understanding the urgent need to create a reliable and qualified workforce. The push is necessary to help the workforce tap into new opportunities so we can look at the future of the world of work and be a part of New India's growth story.

Union Budget 2022 unfolded a vision for a New India, which will be built on a strong skilling ecosystem, robust digital infrastructure and plethora of opportunities. To fulfil this dream, several initiatives have been proposed to boost the skilling sector. They are:
Industry Connect: As India ushers in Industry 4.0, industry linkage becomes important to provide demand-driven industry-relevant training opportunities, bridging the skill gap and facilitating demand-based skilled manpower to industries which would, in turn, add new jobs.

NSQF Alignment: In a bid to bring talent in sync with demand for it, the Government is leaving no stone unturned to renovate the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF)and align it with evolving industries.

Digital Skills: The launch of the DESH-stack e-portal will encourage a digital ecosystem for skilling and livelihood and offer solutions to complex challenges in preparing for a skilled country. The Government is also focusing on strengthening the digital skill ecosystem as technical skills like AR/VR, machine learning, and the ability to work with data, including automated systems, become a must-have.

With Drone Shakti and Kisan Drones for crop assessment, digitization of land records, and spraying of insecticides, the country is set to leapfrog to a future-ready world. This opens up innumerable opportunities for both the drone and
agri-tech sectors: a mutually beneficial ecosystem for technology companies and agricultural modernization.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship invites all Indian citizens to bring their best ideas and suggestions to the table as we move ahead to become the skill capital of the World.

The last date to submit your entries is 30th June 2022.

Skill and efficiency has to go hand in hand. Hence one important aspect of skill-development is to promote familiarity with advanced tools of designing/manufacturing. However, the coupling of a new skilled and efficient workforce with the industry calls for re-tooling of the industry in many cases. This aspect may kindly be kept in mind while finalizing the framework of Reimagining Skill India 2.0.

Harnessing and contributing to open source technologies allows for proliferation of technologies and directly benefits the common man apart from maintaining the sovereignty and independence in various sectors. Most Indian companies do little to profit from open source technologies and tools and the contribution from a country of 1,4 billion people is insignificant. Perhaps a public-private partnership should be set up to provide open+source technologies consulting to companies across India to reduce their CAPEX and OPEX and also consolidate and build new open source technologies for the country. Internet (world wide Web) is a classic example that seems to be loosing it's sovereignty as Google Inc's search engine has emerged as the defacto search engine and due to the absence of any open source web technologies, the internet suffers from the hagemony of a single.player and impacts businesses worldwide. Another example is the Android Operating System for mobile and hand held devices.

Standardisation is the key to making Indian industries more competitive. Standardisation should be made a part of the curriculum in schools and in engineering and management courses. Ordinary people as well as industries loose tens of billions due to non conformity of products and services. Examples: The bricks/tiles sizes are different, the width of pipes are different, the ceilings heights are different, and products from different manufacturers becomes incompatible. This hampers growth. Standardisation needs to be worked on across all domains so that products, services and technologies can be reused in the same manner everywhere. Standardisation should be coupled with Quality norms and for this quality norms should be worked out across all sectors and products. This whole idea could provide temporary employment to millions of youth.

The following two submissions may kindly be considered:
1) The NSQF should provide scope for the skilled car-mechanics and repairers of machines, informally trained on the job by the unorganized sector, to get formal recognition.
2) The training expenses for recruits of sunrise industries should be considered for reasonable subvention by the GOI on case to case basis.

Start by privatizing Banks like Bank of India (worst bank). Better and more skilled people should get jobs than lazy rude employees.
Skill is abundant. Its the number of jobs that are the problem. Agnipath is the right path. 1 salaried permanent employees salary can be given to atleast 2 contractual employees and still he/they can lead a comfortable life. When job is permanent; as they get older, they become more lazy while getting higher salary. Only in India, you will find this stupidness . If you are unwilling to work for the salary you get , you should either quit or be fired.
