Taking care of our hearts should be a top priority for everyone.
To ensure we have a healthy heart and lifestyle, we must get 6 to 8 hours of sleep daily.
It is critical to eat a healthy and balanced diet, preferably fresh food that is cooked at home in a hygienic environment. You must include heart-healthy foods like legumes, avocado, oatmeal, olive oil, nuts, berries, spinach, and salmon in your daily diet.
It’s also important to avoid secondhand smoke as this increases your risk for heart attack and stroke. According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, nonsmokers who have high blood pressure or high blood cholesterol have an even greater risk of developing heart disease when they’re exposed to secondhand smoke. This is because the chemicals emitted from cigarette smoke promote the development of plaque buildup in the arteries.
Many cessation products can help you quit your habit as well as support groups that can help you stay on track.
