Teach Zero Defect Zero Effect.

Zero Defect the best quality in a given resource.

Zero Effect. Optimisation of resources like, space, time, raw material, power, consumables. The safety of the worker and environment.

Put a price a little higher than China and give more value addition than china and then there is no price competition.

VERY VERY IMPORTANT NEED FOR INDIA NOW IS "SKILL"!
Over the years importance was given to increasing the NUMBER of educational institutions in order to develop the potential of every individual and it had been quite successful considering the huge population of India.
QUANTITY can't do anything without Good QUALITY!
The quality of these institutions built all these days is now a BIG QUESTION MARK!
If we need to transform our India from 'Developing' to 'Developed', Quality should be improved!

We need to understand that a university degree cannot form the basis of skill development. Let us start at class VIII, ask children to select a trade of their choice. The school should have facilities for training plumbers, electricians, carpenters, black smiths, gold smiths, laundry, saloons, spa, etc. This be compulsory subject, passing in this choice is must for matriculation pass. In 12th they go on, get diploma in their trade of choice and become self employable or by others!

No Doubt Skill Development is a major task for any Government to eradicate the poverty as it enhances the employment opportunities or business activities of the people. But the Insurance sector is surely legging behind on this count. The IRDA instead of providing the quality training to the Agents of this sector have let loose the controls and have closed all the 2000 ATI's. The number of trained agents is now decreasing continuously in LIC - the leader in this sector.Bogus figures notwithstanding

Its a step we should have taken with independence. It's Ok as it's better late than never. Some points I think we must consider in its effective implementation are:
1. Before developing skill in the masses we should focus more on training the trainers. In skill development or technical fields, its said that you are as good as your mentor is. The basic habits of workmanship develop with the training one gets and some of the habits or errors go with you whole life.

Reasons for the importance of skills development in a globalized economy
First, globalization is leading to increasing international standardization of educational challenges and systems.

Second, international organizations increasingly emphasize a largely common program of competence development and lifelong learning.

Third, the widespread adoption of international conventions that form the normative basis for the competencies.

Power is of the most critical social & economic infrastructure. The socio-economic development of the people and economic growth of the country depends on adequate availability of quality and reliable electricity. In view of such massive investment by Govt of India & State Govt, there is ample scope for creation of job opportunities for skilled workforce in power sector.Hence Skill Development merits high priority.Power Sector Skill Council is marching ahead in this direction.
