New Town, Kolkata has been declared as a potential Smart City under the Smart Cities Mission, Government of India. To participate in Round-2 of the challenge of the smart city ...
I am glad to know that New Town become a Smart City
Khub bhalo khobor. Gorbito bodh korchi
I need good markets in newtown. A home delivery system would be great
I share your views Ashish. NewTown is shaping up good and big time. Its population is only 25000 now But we need a citizens forum here. Not as we know the run of the mill municipalities to be but may be a two way interactive blog where issues could be posted and responses from the authorities given.
If any city has the true potential to be a smart city its Newtown. Its a city in making. A well planned urban set up with a responsive citizen centric system is what I feel must be the theme of this highly evolved city. Let it be a services hub with well planned talent management and retention systems.
please make cycle track within New town, so that people residing within 10 km from office/School can go by cycle.
The pavements are not disable friendly.
Encroachment on pavements
Bus terminal near Unitech gate 1 should be removed

Bathroom Flush Cisterns use 5-10 liter of water in Single use. So on Avg A person use 40-50 liter water per day per person. we should use harvested Rain water by mandating Saperate Water line from Rain water reservoir for Flush Cistern .
great
I like that New Town becoming a smart City
1) awareness of "Water harvesting" by every citizen.
2) Awareness of "Solar Energy"by every citizen.
3) "Plantation" at every street.
