New Town, Kolkata has been declared as a potential Smart City under the Smart Cities Mission, Government of India. To participate in Round-2 of the challenge of the smart city ...
I would like to see something that informs people of heavy traffic in an area in advance. Bangalore follows this.
We know that accidents can occur anytime – while driving cars, bikes or crossing roads. These cannot be prevented always. But if quick helps is given it will save lives. Also people will get immediate first aid treatment. So why not arrange for something like a one call help or CCTV from where one can see if an accident has taken place?
Are more companies coming to New Town? I hope the smart city will offer as many career options as most other IT hubs in India offer, soon!
I love the parks and beautification work done in this area. It gives me a great feeling to walk out of my house or office and enjoy a good walk. The roads are however getting crowded very fast :(
Just checked out the Eco Park last week, with my whole family. Being an outsider, I have had a very good experience since I have shifted to New Town. I just want the rents to be a bit lower in this area :)
Bus boddo bhir hoi office time e, Othai jaina! More buses needed at short intervals. Interior area gulo auto service chalu korleo bhalo hoi, at least bhir bus gulote kosto kore utte hoina.
Rates for transport are very random. Faster this issue is solved the better it is!
Technology is of course one of the key factors that makes New Town smart. But there should be basic settings as well like market fresh vegetables, few small retail shops. It’s not always possible for all to buy daily stuffs at Malls. If there are centers like those in Salt Lake then local people will be at ease.
With the new companies coming in, and the existing ones flourishing, New Town definitely seems to be outdoing what Salt Lake sector 5 had done in the past. It is definitely the smart place to be considering in Kolkata.
I am really concerned with public transport options in and around Rajarhat, not on the main road, but on the inner lanes that connect properties and residential projects with the main road. Hope this is looked upon soon - it would make this area to ideal place to live in!
