If you could use them for votes, why u couldn't give them a society.A society for those kind people, who come to a city for labor and earnings, they live right to the road side "so called footpath", they sleep near to it, they shit and pee every where they want, so to make a clean India, we have to consider this. This is a big issue in India. My suggestion is A society for the Labours, Rickshawala, colie, for all slum people".

further, some features of smart cities are promoting mixed land use that too in area based developments, affordable and 100% housing for all the classes of the society with inclusiveness, creating walk-able localities by following strict rules, preserving and developing open spaces; promoting a variety of transport options, making governance citizen-friendly and cost effective, giving an identity to the city; and applying smart solutions to infrastructure and services in area-based development.

I live in Rajarhat, a very close proximity of New town Kolkata. No doubt Newtown has all the potentials of becoming a SMART CITY, but the focus should be also on the connecting roads to New town. The Road from Rajarhat Chowmatha to New town is nothing great than "Pathetic" full of potholes. On top of that the public transport also poses a serious issue. Dear PM kindly pay your heed & extend all your support to Govt of West Bengal to beautify New town & its surrounding area. Cheers!!!

New Town is one of the most ambitious project of Govt of West Bengal. Improvement of Public Transportation still remains a serious issue for people of this area. The concerned authorities should take notice of this.

New Town Kolkata is one of the most exciting and high potential development amongst the identified 100 SMART Cities. As a new development located in the eastern part of India, New Town could emerge as an economic powerhouse and gateway to South and South East Asian market. Therefore, it is imperative that the development of New Town is perceived as a national priority.

Thanks to the initiative to upgrade new Town as a smart city.My suggestion is we may introduce cycling as a massive transportation device as in London to reduce dependence on hydro carbon and carbon emission. Otherwise New Town is already many miles ahead in all the parameters to judge it as smart city.
