New Town, Kolkata has been declared as a potential Smart City under the Smart Cities Mission, Government of India. To participate in Round-2 of the challenge of the smart city contest, a Smart City Proposal will be prepared after taking into consideration aspirations, visions, goals and smart solutions (low cost smart solutions, technology based smart solutions etc.) communicated by the citizens of New Town, Kolkata to make it a better place to live. Drinking Water supply problem and garbage's and dirty water is not removing from our locality that's why insects like Mosquitoes, flies are around us. plz solve the problems in our locality as soon as possible.

Safe drinking water to be supplied on a 24 X 7 basis, and waste water should be treated and recycled, which should be used for cleaning and maintaining the greenery in New Town. Similarly, 100% of solid waste should be collected separately for bio-degradables and non-degradables and scientifically treated.

Transport in lanes to be improved. Safe drinking water to be provided. Education facilities and Healthcare system to be improved also.

Dedicated footpath for the pedestrians and cycle track for safe cycling. Avenue plantations inside the Action Areas and not merely restricted to the Major Arterial Roads. Dedicated Parks for the Pets to take inside with requisite Do`s and Don`ts. Management of Stray Dogs. Regulate traffic inside the residential area blocks by installing manned gates ; costs to be shared by the residents. Community Hall in different blocks for socializing.
