The City “Mangaluru” in Karnataka has been selected as one of the Smart Cities to be developed under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India's Smart City Mission. In order to participate in the 'City Challenge' proposal competition, Mangaluru is now required to formulate its own unique Vision and prepare the Smart City Plan in consultation with the citizens and other stakeholders.
Mangaluru City Corporation makes a Clarian call to Mangaluru’s responsible, right thinking and smart citizenry to post their valuable suggestions and recommendations to make Mangaluru a truly Smart Global City.
Your valuable suggestions would help Mangaluru to formulate a Smart City Vision, Goals and Strategy to achieve objectives.

The citizens are also requested to share their innovative and sustainable ideas and suggestions to develop Pan City Initiatives using Smart Solutions (using Information and Communication Technology) in areas of Core Infrastructure (as defined in the Smart City Mission Statement & Guidelines) and Area Based Developments to accelerate Economic Activities in the city.

Please provide your suggestions and feedback latest by 5th October 2015.

1) Buses for Ladies only at peak hours. 2) Develop the places like Deralakatte since there are lot of institutions like Educational, medical& IT. Proper roads need to be developed and easy connectivity to City. Once there is easy connectivity lot of IT companies will come and there will be lot of job opportunities in Mangaluru itself. 3) Take initiatives to complete the Mangala Corniche project. 4) Traffic Management. 5) One good stadium 6) Good Tourist place 7) City of Education.

Take a new path to meet growing energy needs and, at the same time, to cater for environmental concerns. Tackle green issues such as energy efficiency, renewables, waste and resource management, clean air and water and sustainable city.

Mangaluru should get good quality and improved Roads so that city vehicles Traffic can be reduced, Tourism places need improvement and cleanse should maintained , Water supply should be regular , proper Power supply Parking facility Footpath etc. Interior areas need development.

3. Try converting Street lights to solar which will save power as well uses renewable energy (cost saving also) 4. Planting of more trees and mantainance of these can be given to all private and government debt on monthly basis.

Smart city becomes smart when people start being smart. For an city to become smart people have to change their attitude by saying my mangalore city than jst saying mangalore city. Citizen of mangalore should take the first step by keeping their surroundings clean than blaming someone else. 1.we have seen people standing in Ques to get ration.Food and supply should make items in packages so tat people can jst pick up and move on. 2. Mini parks for every ward to be made compulsory
