The City “Mangaluru” in Karnataka has been selected as one of the Smart Cities to be developed under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India's Smart City Mission. In order to participate in the 'City Challenge' proposal competition, Mangaluru is now required to formulate its own unique Vision and prepare the Smart City Plan in consultation with the citizens and other stakeholders.
Mangaluru City Corporation makes a Clarian call to Mangaluru’s responsible, right thinking and smart citizenry to post their valuable suggestions and recommendations to make Mangaluru a truly Smart Global City.
Your valuable suggestions would help Mangaluru to formulate a Smart City Vision, Goals and Strategy to achieve objectives.

The citizens are also requested to share their innovative and sustainable ideas and suggestions to develop Pan City Initiatives using Smart Solutions (using Information and Communication Technology) in areas of Core Infrastructure (as defined in the Smart City Mission Statement & Guidelines) and Area Based Developments to accelerate Economic Activities in the city.

Please provide your suggestions and feedback latest by 5th October 2015.

*My Vision to make Mangaluru a Smart City *Development of more Public Places such as Parks and Squares with Internet Connectivity. Providing and maintaining of bio-chemical toilets and dustbin at regular intervals in the city. Multi-Level Parking Plazas in the commercial areas of the city.

With all the developments Mangalore should retain its Nature and culture. City should serve to all grades of people .city should be active 24 x 7 .

It's the traffic that kills Mangalore! Unless we find ways of declogging Nantur Balmatta Bunts Hostel and other roundabouts, we cannot Improve. We need much more Efficiency in our public transport system!

City should be made more attractive colorful & clean in terms of roads,buildings,beach side activities,concerts/events,restaurants with extended time limit,street lights in each & every roads,Flexible train timings,more job opportunities etc

Mangaluru city to be redeveloped with all basic infrastructure facilities, adequate water supply, roads, detours, railways, seaports, airports, education, healthcare, power, advanced information technology, affordable housing for poor, tourism, automatic traffic signal, better Public transport facility, quick accident relief, crime control room etc.
