The City “Mangaluru” in Karnataka has been selected as one of the Smart Cities to be developed under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India's Smart City Mission. In order to participate in the 'City Challenge' proposal competition, Mangaluru is now required to formulate its own unique Vision and prepare the Smart City Plan in consultation with the citizens and other stakeholders.
Mangaluru City Corporation makes a Clarian call to Mangaluru’s responsible, right thinking and smart citizenry to post their valuable suggestions and recommendations to make Mangaluru a truly Smart Global City.
Your valuable suggestions would help Mangaluru to formulate a Smart City Vision, Goals and Strategy to achieve objectives.

The citizens are also requested to share their innovative and sustainable ideas and suggestions to develop Pan City Initiatives using Smart Solutions (using Information and Communication Technology) in areas of Core Infrastructure (as defined in the Smart City Mission Statement & Guidelines) and Area Based Developments to accelerate Economic Activities in the city.

Please provide your suggestions and feedback latest by 5th October 2015.

There should be road development. all incomplete roads should be completed. Keep dustbins on all important places which should be maintained properly.

Vision Statement: To make a city truly SMART to its sense, there should be a clear balance between industrialization and ecological growth. Since digitization is the main core to becoming a smarter city there is ample space for NEXT-GEN ideas. Transportation should be more Eco-friendly using CNG buses,electric vehicles,Smart cars,Electric Boats etc. E- Governance should get smarter and people should stay connected. Life in Mangalore will be blessed with technology and provide better living.

Vision Statement: City connecting costal Kannagigas to realize the dream of Suraaj and Gram Swaraj. Description: Development related to smart city in Mangalore should not be limited to existing city. Smart city should have perimeter of at least 50kms from center of the city so that it brings inclusive development for all Coastal Kannadigas. Please see attached PDF for more details.
