The City “Mangaluru” in Karnataka has been selected as one of the Smart Cities to be developed under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India's Smart City Mission. In order to participate in the 'City Challenge' proposal competition, Mangaluru is now required to formulate its own unique Vision and prepare the Smart City Plan in consultation with the citizens and other stakeholders.
Mangaluru City Corporation makes a Clarian call to Mangaluru’s responsible, right thinking and smart citizenry to post their valuable suggestions and recommendations to make Mangaluru a truly Smart Global City.
Your valuable suggestions would help Mangaluru to formulate a Smart City Vision, Goals and Strategy to achieve objectives.

The citizens are also requested to share their innovative and sustainable ideas and suggestions to develop Pan City Initiatives using Smart Solutions (using Information and Communication Technology) in areas of Core Infrastructure (as defined in the Smart City Mission Statement & Guidelines) and Area Based Developments to accelerate Economic Activities in the city.

Please provide your suggestions and feedback latest by 5th October 2015.

•Dustbins to be placed in the city at every 100 meter distance. •More useful & flowering trees planting roadside,grass carpets to be placed along the areas & flowering plants in the dividers of the main road. •Ban on chewing tobacco n spitting in public place. •IT Park for IT companies. •Under pass in all major circles. •Rain water harvesting in public places •Welcome arch representing the culture of mangaluru •International cricket stadium. •Installation of CCTV cameras at key location.

planed roads with sufficient footpaths, 24*7 water & electricity, good drainage system, open drainage & open sewage canals should be closed, Garbage disposal & Cleanliness, solar power to be produced phase by phase, industry/small scall industry to be established to enable youths to get job, sufficient parking for 4 wheels & 2 wheeler s , good numbers of amusement parks. etc........

I want see to smart city foot path development, road development, electricity 24*7 supply, current wires should be in under ground, drainage facility, bus stands should be development. etc..............

VISION: The aim should be to embed a capability for smart and sustainable re-invention through technology into the way the city is reorganized and into the way the new business and trade are being promoted so as to deliver a step-up change in Mangalore’s economic growth through strong partnership at government’s level

Proper roads need to be developed and easy connectivity to City.Buses for Ladies.Job opportunities in Mangaluru,betterment of Tourist places.Housing for people in slum area,International stadium in the city,sky walks in heavy traffic area for the convinience of the people.When the city developes equal importance should be given for keeping the city to be greener.Drinking water facilities should be provide at every 100mts distance.CC TV's should be installed in the road junctions.
