In order to engage with the stakeholders and invite comments from the public at large, the Department of Revenue has decided to make available the draft Model Laws on Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the public domain.

There are two Model Laws on GST which are being put up in the public domain. This discussion pertains to the draft Model Goods and Services Tax Law for the Centre and the States. The draft law can be seen here. You are invited to submit your comments/feedback on the draft law through this discussion on MyGov.in.

To facilitate the analysis of the comments / feedback, you are requested to add a hashtag to your comments. The hashtags should be added using the following scheme:

Use the hashtag #ModelGSTChap1 for comments pertaining to Chapter 1 of the Model GST Law, #ModelGSTChap2 for comments pertaining to Chapter 2 of the Model GST Law, etc.

In case you have more than one suggestion to offer, you may find it convenient to type out your comments in a separate document, with hashtags specifying the Chapters for which the comments are being given. This document can be converted into a PDF and uploaded in the discussion thread.

It must be insured by the duties of the officers, that instead of rein and terror, in addition to increase the revenue a conducive environment between the taxpayer and the government is necessary to decrease the revenue loss and they are responsible for it. They should also be given hands to help in removing hurdles coming to increase revenue by collecting feedback & suggestions from the field.

For small disputes, establishing “Unstationary or Mobile Benches” under the settlement commission, which include some experts from out of estate agencies may help in speedy settlement of issues. The habitual offenders should not be given any opportunity for settlement, rather should be dealt strictly under the provisions of various laws.

For enforcement and better implementation “The GST” a long time awaited & biggest indirect tax reform should insure, transparency in it's draft code, eradication of the dual meaning of any norms & procedures and firm meaning of all its rules & regulation, sections & sub-sections. If possible, ambiguity in corresponding sections & sub-sections should be explained and cleared with examples. The rights and duties of all level officers should easily accessible by tax payers.

After finalisation of GST law, all citizens should pay for the all taxes as per policy, But we request the Govt. to make such laws so that Income tax must be collected from all the classes of people.

Dear Sir,
Why all Private practicing Advocates and Doctors are not issuing proper receipts to all their clients/Patients even though they are charging huge sums as their professional fees OR consultation fees. Also even Defence personnel, who have given 20 yrs or more of their valuable life for the nation are not given relief or concession at any Toll Plaza on Road,But Advocates are exempted from paying toll tax, Why is the injustice with all other citizens. Also Govt. can get sufficient incom
