Surat Smart City Mission

Start Date :
Dec 03, 2015
Last Date :
Dec 11, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Surat Municipal Corporation has prepared draft Smart City Proposal (SCP) as per the guideline of Smart City Mission given by MoUD, Govt. of India. Based on opinion/feedback ...
According to me SMC is doing really appreciating job, but still there is long way to go,
i have been to many countries and seen different industries there units there management techniques, i have been in many government offices seen there law and order structure there system so i can say that there is a long way to go but yes off course way are in right direction and its not only the duties of government bodies to do development for us its our duty too, support them by paying taxes timely
As per my opinion, SMC has done excellent job...
Keep it up...

quite comprehensive plan , as Surat has most of basic infrastructure in place , what is needed in smart city is value addition to existing infrastructure like use if IT initiatives , for connectivity citizen engagement etc,
I feel smart cities need planed infrastructure development and also Prime minister should promote smart cities on global stage and give incentives to global and domestic company to set up their hub in smart cities as that will boost job and also infrastructure and also transport system.Tax exemption can be one thing or something like that.
Most of the smart cities should not have water problem and all the building should have compulsory rain water harvesting and if the builder does not have it no NOC should be given
For all old buildings it should be made compulsory or encourage the societies to get it done in 2 years time frame and they should get some benefit in the lower rates of water supply or property tax
In Surat most of citizens not follow traffic rules.
Almost of have too hurry that not follow signals althogh there is traffic police.
so to make "SMART SURAT" must required technology at all signals when RED Signal is on vehicles must have to stop. tecnology which stop all vehicle automaticaly.
One more diamond added in the crown of Smart city Surat today.
I travel in Gujarat by road I see night time so many commercial wheekle have no back light so road accident chancese 100 % first take step for all wheekle have working back light
SMC must undertake 2 pronged approach for promoting PT:
1. Provide high quality PT (such as Metro) to attract people to use it which will over the years turn into habit to utilize PT.
2. Instead of dedicated lane currently used by BRTS, conventional Bus system (City bus)must be improved. After success of PT, dedicated lanes can be provided. This will relieve the traffic caused due to dedicated lanes BRTS in city.
