Ticketing System on Indian Railways

Start Date :
Jan 01, 2015
Last Date :
Jul 17, 2015
04:15 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Reserved tickets can be booked at Computerised Passenger Reservation System centres operated by Indian Railways and also online through website www.irctc.co.in. Unreserved tickets ...
sir pls make a railway card for everyone ,after swapping card u enter in station also swap card with ur TT , if we proceed this formula we know that hw many people travel in train exactly, if someone miss his train u should trancefar his tickets to the next station ,
Please ensure coach position through some mechanism, as it is very difficult for the old age people to find correct coach.
Suggestion on on-line ticket:
If i am 101% sure of travelling to my home on Diwali and i get a Waiting list ticket by booking on-line then it will get cancel if don't get confirm. so now either i have to go to counter to book ticket(not feasible most of time) or travel by bus. You should put a option where i can select i am 101% sure of travel and don't cancel my ticket even if it is in waiting list. Also try providing CC class in up to 15 hour journey train for those who are sure of travel.
Suggestion on ticket checking:
Make ticket checking digital and ask TT to upload the data to server once they finish ticket checking. It will improve security like who travelled that day or not and also those in waiting list don't have to bribe TT to take seat and they automatically get seats of those who hasn't board train. we can send OTP with ticket to passenger on phone, so if he gives OTP to TT then only he can mark that person has boarded the train or not.
Black marketing of tickets is main cause of the not reservation in the trains . Online tatkal booking is a nightmare. I appreciate the upgraded website, within 2 to 3 mnts of tatkal booking window gets open ,tckts gets unavailable . So i do not believe that thousand or more than that tatkal tckts gets booked from one station to other .almost every Person criticises this facility from so many years . So please check wats wrng going on with tatkal online bookings. I think there is something wrong.
Black marketing of railway tickets should be stoped . I have seen person selling sleeper class tickets with the help of TT . He had a bundle of tckts with him . I got the RAC tckt from Lucknow to delhi . While others who got the tickets through that man were enjoying the journey. I don't know how many but indian railway staff is corrupt and irresponsible. Everyone knows how and where tckts black marketing happens but no gov. Officer takes action bcz they get paid for being silent .
There is no shortage of laws to govern the ticketing but there is no deterrent. railway vigilance and RPF has to undertake special drives to nab and punish the guilty. More than 90 % of the black marketing of tickets is undertaken within 100 meters of Railways station of Booking centre. If even once the officials of Railway venture out of office and raid these dens the system will automatically cleaned.
The main problem is black marketing. It is suggested that all the tickets on online platform be issued against OTP sent to mobile number in addition to the identity proof. This will completely eliminate the block booking through online system by brokers.
Indian railway issuing identity card for disabled (PH) for ticket reservation. I welcome it, But getting this we need to approach 3 times to DRM office (for person living in coimbatore, salem is the DRM place - 160 KM.)(Chinese can get online visa from India).Validity of the card is 5 years only. Why this? our ATM card life time now, PAN life time even passport more than 10 years, driving licence 25 years. Make it online like PAN Card.
I still wonder why we do not have ticket vending machines like in developed countries. I have seen such long lines which is an inconvenience to all. Best way to get most of the railways is to introduce ticket vending machines with RFID in it and access doors just like you have in metro stations... By this approach we can have smooth approach and also ensure everyone buys the ticket. Smart Travel card would be even better .. eco friendly. no use of papers.
