Reserved tickets can be booked at Computerised Passenger Reservation System centres operated by Indian Railways and also online through website www.irctc.co.in. Unreserved tickets can be purchased from Computerised Unreserved Ticketing System counters and also Automatic Ticket Vending Machines which have been installed at major stations.

Suggest solutions for efficient ticketing system.

Ticket checking system in train to be digitalized so that indian government can get money by 1) selling the current reservatiin tickets over the counter or online at each station 2) decrease number of TTEs required in each train 3) decreasing the corruption 4) utilizing the same TTEs for other purposes in railways 5) better and transperent service which is moto of Modi and India

It might be good to have AADHAR linked ticket booking system. Biometric reader can be used by TTE. No paper wastage! Can use PMJDY's bank account for payment. ATVM can efficiently book tickets just based on AADHAR and source and destination. It is good to have one id for all purpose.

Introduce Thermal Printers in UTS counters. The advantages listed in C&AG report of 2008. CRIS also had done trial run and gave favourable reply. Southern Railway sanctioned with 1.59 crores and allocated 1.00 crores. But S.Rly says, CRIS is not cooperating. The Thermal Printers are speedier, accurate, clear and more compatible to the UTS system. It is advantageous to the department, staff and the passengers. Kindly instruct both CRIS and SRly to introduce early. Please not ATVMs using these.

Cancel the wait listed tickets booked on counters. as we pay more for tatkal & premium tatkal & share berths then what is the benefit for extra paying passengers.??

Introduce Fire extinguishers in coaches as a safety device in case of fire in moving train. Improvement in www.irctc.co.in is must as the NGET servers are going out of service in tatkal time. Wait listed tickets must be cancelled in case of counter booking also as we pay more for tatkal Also Public Awareness is a must because In country like India no department can develop on its alone because JIS DESH MEIN TOILET MEIN MUG CHAIN SE BANDH KAR RAKHNA PADE,WAHA KOI KAISE AUR KITNA TARRAKKI KARE

sir, why can't we develop our metro cities railway station like metro stations .so, every passenger will pay and enter into railway station and they will make use of services provided by the railway. it is related to the finance but in public private partner ship we can develop and share the platform ticket amount , parking slot amount, commercial shop revenue, restaurants. by this type we can get back our revenue.

sir irtctc message alerts on railway booking is good about pnr no, seat no, coach no and please add the platform number along with it will help full for passengers. they will come in a hurry for find only more it take so please implement in the SMS alerts.

Collect instant feedback ratings from the passengers on the quality of food (how good the food is for the price paid by them) they are served in the trains. Ratings could be collected by asking them to SMS their rating (could be number based -1 to 5, or word based - good, normal, bad) and their PNR number. Info of the SMS number could be provided on the railway tickets. Use that data to award contracts to the caterers.
