All AC tickets should be treated like Airline seats and Airline pricing model should be used. Poor people dont use AC trains.

earlier rail tickets with long waiting list used to be cleared. But now a days rail tickets with wait list no 5 or 6 are also not cleared. this has been observed since last 6 to 7 months. i am a frequent traveller on nagpur Hyderabad route and i often face this problem. Also, trains and platforms are not clean. Earlier even in Lalu -raj, the trains used to be clean, and we could actually see house keeping staff in trains. they even used to spray air fresheners in train.

Seen news in TOI 24 March, curtailing number of attempts of user on opening day between 8AM to 10AM may not be a realistic solution to fight touts as tickets get sold out within minutes and real user does not even get second chance. also keep in mind the strength of digital world and the extra amount ticket black-marketeers charge.

HOW CAN THE SERVICE OF INDIAN RAILWAY BE IMPROVED? Hotels built above station platforms: Railways stations are right in the middle of the cities and they don't utilize the precious space above the platforms. Here is acres and acres of red-hot real estate space right in the middle of New Delhi. Why not build hotels right on top of this space (with sound proofing, of course)? Travelers could stay in safe, convenient central locations, while railways could make huge revenues.

Whie booking tkt through IRCTC for Premium Tatkal at 10.00 a.m. the Capthcha code is shrinked and not readable. After 5 minutes it becomes readable. This should be corrected. Also refund on cancellation for IRCTC booked tickets should be made within a time frame of 3 to 4 hours.

Reduce the no. of passengers in reservation forms to four. make i-ticket compulsory prior to 15 days of departure of train, will reduce unauthorized ticketing through IRCTC. Make provision of seizing reservation amount if address is wrong. fixed mobile numbers in one user account. introduce a digital interface at ticket counter taking impression of index and middle fingers of right hand of the customer, aadhar number can be used for PH persons. id/address proof required for cancellation of tikt.
