Reserved tickets can be booked at Computerised Passenger Reservation System centres operated by Indian Railways and also online through website www.irctc.co.in. Unreserved tickets can be purchased from Computerised Unreserved Ticketing System counters and also Automatic Ticket Vending Machines which have been installed at major stations.

Suggest solutions for efficient ticketing system.

Dear sir Stations dnt have clean platforms. We dnt know at which platform train will arrive anytime they change the platform of the train if the person is young it's k but if person is oldage wht they Will dooo ????On platform train stops for 2 min no one knows at where place is there coach ???There should be proper electronic boards where it is displayed like Coach no A2 will arrive at this place on platform .After sitting In train it's like winning a race With high heartbeats foroldpeople

It's very surprising that in matter of tatkal ticket ,railway booking counter book only one ticket at a time but travel agents books many tickets at a time due to their software. IRCTC people know everything but they don't try to improve . IRCTC officials are resposible for everything ,they deal either catering services or ticketing services.

I would suggest to first improve our online ticketing system. We have these many IT companies in India but still we are not able to develop a robust website for booking online tickets. Compared to previous website the current web site is very good but still has many issues. It's very hard to book a tatkal ticket. 50% of the time we end up without a ticket due to server issues, even though we have a perfect internet connection. Hoping for a better booking service.

At large stations, suggest separate areas for local commuters' trains & long range trains. Movements of passengers are different. Local commuter trains platforms should have gates & suggest small kiosks and/or hand held ticketing devices. This may help in reducing long ques at regular counters and check ticket-less travelers. Instead of loud announcements suggest better & more boards showing arrival/ departure of trains effectively. Some helper also should be there to guide passengers.

Dear sir We have to do something in our systems of ticket nd enquiry counters.They treat people in very bad way. There are very long queues. This should be properly managed like a company.The people who dnt want to work why they are in railways we should fired them from the job. Our stations are very dirty nd smelly. Everywhere there is dirtyness.

Lack of crowd management is problem in Indian railway. We may study Chinese railways. Discourage people to wait in main hall more than specific time. Arrange gates at individual platform or a pair of platforms for issuing tickets & checking. This gate opens before few minutes of departure & this way crowd is moved to a specific platforms. Reducing crowd is necessary at platforms & station halls.

can we automatic ticket counter for unreserved tickets.so long queues can be avoided.The system may be effective especially for local train passengers.
