Reserved tickets can be booked at Computerised Passenger Reservation System centres operated by Indian Railways and also online through website www.irctc.co.in. Unreserved tickets can be purchased from Computerised Unreserved Ticketing System counters and also Automatic Ticket Vending Machines which have been installed at major stations.

Suggest solutions for efficient ticketing system.

sir ji station me ya online me jab hi tatkal ticket katne jai to w/l ticket kabhi confarm nahi hota lakin dalal ke pass w/l ticket confarm kaise hojata hai...... sir ji....isme kuch kijiye......

sir ji,ithing indian railway ko railway station ke heights ko use karna chahiye,wahan hotels ,restorent,city ke famous pakwan,kaarigari,mithaiya,pahnave,etc exibition hona chahiye, multiplex hone chahiye

नेट से जो वोटिंग टिकट बनता है वो कंफर्म नहीं होने पर अपने आप कैंसिल हो जाता है जो की नहीं होना चईये अगर ये सिस्टम सही हो जाये तो टिकट काउंटर पर भीड़ नहीं होगी

प्रधानमंत्रीजी हमारे देश मे लोगो को जनरल बोगी मे बैठने की जगह भी नही मिलती इसका प्रमुख कारण ट्रेन कम होना नही बल्कि जनरल बोगिया कम होना हे तथा बोगियो मे फेली अव्यवस्था हे हमारे देश मे अभी भी अंग्रेज़ो के स्टाइल वाली जनरल बोगिया चल रही हे इन मे सबसे बड़ी दिक्कत किसी यात्री की कोई फिक्स सीट नही होती हे . इन बोगीयो को बंद करके जनशताब्दी एक्सप्रेस वाली बोगिया हर ट्रेन मे लगानी चाहिए इससे हर यात्री को अपनी एक सीट मिल सकेगी . हर यात्री अपनी एक सीट पर बेतकर यात्रा कर सकेगा. और हमे एक एसी व्यवस्था स्थापित करनी चाहिए जिससे करेंट आरक्षण मिल सके इन बोगियो का.

Request to prepare Charts of the train at least a day in advance, rather than some couple of hours before the train starts. This will give enough time for passengers to plan further course of action in case wait list tickets. Post initial chart preparation booking can be reopened for the vacant seats again. This will help the railways to sell the vacant seats and also for passengers to plan their travel in last minute.

Two suggestions to improve revenues. 1. Railways must launch differently priced fares for Foreign Tourist 2. Launch reservations on foreign travel websites such as expedia and others. 3. IRCTC must collaborate with foreign travel agencies such as Thomas Cook / SOTC etc to introduce personalized services such as dedicated Tourist wagon (can be attached with existing trains) to be provided to a group of foreign tourists as per their itinerary.

In continuation with below post.. If automatic ticketing sytem is introduced on the railway / metro station then smart card will reduce the lines on the station. People just need to flash there card on the station and walk away.
