Unreserved tickets can be purchased from Computerised Unreserved Ticketing System counters and also Automatic Ticket Vending Machines which have been installed at major stations.

Can government provide a prepaid smart card similar to debit card for buying tickets? It can be used for any kind of transport like Bus, Railway, Metro & even for private taxis. It can be made available at public transport stations & can be good replacement for monthly pass. Advantages: - Reduce cash transactions - Remove the problems like giving a change / exchanging money while buying tickets - Save time. - Useful for tourists. This kind of smart card is available in countries like South Kore

Last week I was traveling from Nasik(MH) to Bhopal(MP) on waiting ticket. When I ask TT for sit he gave me the birth which was book from Bhopal. So the birth was not officially allotted to any one from starting station(Mumbai) till Bhopal. Many TT uses these sit to allot peoples who pays them more. So to avoid this We can implement some mechanism by which we can allot these sits to the people traveling up to the station from which the sit is reserved( Bhopal) at the time of chart preparation.

The railways should make a ticket vendor system where the passenger can make enquiry as well as deposit cash for the ticket this can also be done with the banks atm system where the customer can make use of the atm as well as the train ticketing system and make payments and also receive the tickets instead of the balance receipts provided by the vending machine with the sms system also this will help in reducing the long ques at stations

All checking staff of railway may be provided mini laptop and all work may be made online. 1. Hard copy of reservation chart may be replaced with online copy . 2. Booking may be made upto train departure time. 3. Unresrve tickets may also be allowed online. 4. Vacant seat may be allowed to book online in running train also. 5. All paperwork of booking tickets may be dispence with , it may save crore of rupees.

Like wise the Metro Station, Exit area that allow to go outside from the station, Railway station should also adopt this way. so that people will travel if they have proper ticket, otherwise no permission to go outside and have a Travel. perhaps it is good for local trains.
