Start Date :
Jan 01, 2015
Last Date :
Jul 17, 2015
04:15 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Train running status information is made available to passengers through website enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/ntes/, mobile applications, SMS and IVRS at 139.Suggest solutions for ...
GPS based technology to be used &
A SMS of the current train location, Expected arrival time &Expected Departure time, to be sent to the passenger on their registered Mobile number prior 1 hour of their commencement of their journey. This will help the passenger plan their departure from home, thereby reducing unnecessary Rush on station & passenger waiting time
Like ATM cash withdrawals information, the delay and exact location before one hour of arrival of Train to platform may be sent to Reserved passengers but for the general passengers some broadcast is possible to sent the information
Reserved passengers might have ready information about the delay of the train they supposed to travel. But general public should be provided with latest update of any train by any type of media which can not be a failure,,,
Since we already have toll free enquiry system, many time we face the connectivity an impossible. Since Google provide world wide navigation system effectively...The system with simplified method can be effectively implemented.
Train enquiry system must be toll- free.Free sms,IVRS and online facility should be maximized. All railway stations should have good inquiry window having all facilities 24X7.
private people should appointed for train station enquiry system.
before implementing any ultra advanced technology solution the major consideration factor would be whether the work force is technology savvy to the extent of utilizing it efficiently and effectively. Whether the end customers are ready for such a highly technical solution. reason being Indian railways caters to rural and urban customers across India and any solution cannot be implemented without considering the rural customers and the workforce based in rural areas.
we definitely have technology solutions available to improve the train enquiry system but rolling out any service on such a large scale will definitely take time and will have to consider each and every aspect associated with it. Moreover, the system that we currently have is self sufficient to handle all the concerns. Its only a matter of how efficiently its being implemented and used. Again, many factors to it.
I have very closely seen our Indian railways transform into a modern rail system. I appreciate the fact that there are still areas of improvement and opportunities development but the ground reality is running such a huge railway network is in itself a huge task. Hats-off to the Indian Railway employees for smoothly running it.
Following ways
1. Inform by SMS
or
2.LED display can be installed in train and information can be displayed there.
