Indian Embassies abroad should issue some sort of certificate similar to domicile or nativiy, which would ease problem of Persons of Indian Origin, to prove their Indian Origin, on the basis of school leaving, voters card of parents, ration card land property in india , bank a/c licence etc and municipal tax bills etc. This would ease issue for oci applications.

Post-dated birth certificates from Municipality/Panchayat etc. This should be duly certified by the District Magistrate/District Collector of the area, with name, stamp, seal and contact telephone numbers with area code for verification. This is on VFS global webpage. I fail to understand the authority who is issuing birth certificate from their records needs to be verified by collector/Mamlatadar . Do you think that there is a need. i feel this should be acceptabl, when it is issued correctly.

domicile/nativity are based on school leaving, work experience etc. which is not recognised by Indian embassies for oci, however these same documents are the base on which applications are made to Local Collectorate, to get domicile, nativity and it takes longer than expected time. Can the authorities not allow school leaving, work experience, proof of previous residence in India, proof of parents with ration card, voters card be accepted for OCI...just a suggestion.

1. Compulsory Enrollment/Registration of all NRI's to Indian embassy can be helpful to track Indians.Yearly renewal of the registration.
2. Communication- From last 10 years Indian embassy, Saudi Arabia has not even send a single communication. Perhaps they might not have the contact details of all the NRI's.
3. Invitation for the social gathering, Ind Day, Rep Day shall be communicated to all the NRI's residing in Saudi Arabia.
4. Forum to resolve dispute between employee & employer.

I will appreciate, in this digital world, if our respected Prime Minister authorised Indian Embassies abroad to process application for domicile and nativity, so that one can easily apply from abroad and prove their Indian Origin .As such most of the work for visa has been outsourced, so the embassay of India abroad should be entrusted with this for convenience, instead of Person going to India and applying.

Embassies should organize social programs for Indian Residents residing in different countries. It should not be the case that embassy should contact only in case we need some help. Embassies should be in direct contact with all Indian residents (residing outside India) at least once every 6 months (on 15th August and 26th Jan). Embassies should make us feel home even if we are away from our motherland.

I recently undertook the process of obtaining a machine readable passport at Dubai's Indian Consulate. Experience was a mixed. Services were nice, well coordinated+organised. However, the name format in earlier passports & today's requirements caused problems, which were not appreciated by the Consular services office & involved few unnecessary procedures+expenses of name change/advertisements/affidavits/penalty & related hassles, which could have been avoided.BLS Service was certainly good+prompt.
