Your experience at the Embassy

Start Date :
Jan 18, 2015
Last Date :
Sep 30, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
From 7th to 9th February the Ministry of External Affairs is organising the Conference of Heads of Mission, which would be addressed by the Prime Minister. ...
Earlier it was allowed for any Indian to renew his passport wherever he is visiting. However, some embassies now dont take applications. They ask for local stay or employment permit before they give you any service. This is wrong. Any Indian or should be allowed to take any passport or consular or visa service whereever he presently is due to his employment or business or tourism. If he needs any service in any part of the globe where an Indian embassy is he should get the service.
Sometimes, they are asking more papers than are required under the rules. This is especially for making PIO card or OCI card. Sometimes, they do not allow to surrender the passport for taking foreign passport. It is the right of a citizen to renounce and surrender his passport. He does not need approval for that. But at some embassies like in Lusaka it is very difficult to surrender Indian passport when someone becomes entitled to foreign passport.
Embassy staff is not friendly in some offices. They do not understand that it is their job to serve the people but they think they are the masters. It should be instructed to them that they have to help out the person who otherwise will be stranded. He cannot come to India every time a small document is to be attested or Police clearance is to be taken. Embassy staff should be considerate and not just chase away the people like dogs for small shortcomings.
1. staffs from one ethnicity/state should not work in a place 2.list all the itineraries in the embassy website for the required job including number of passport size photos3. hot line under your watch in inda to complain about corrupt/rude employee 4.elderly,women with or without children, students should be given priority at embassies 5 a special time for working population 6. people with higher secondary education or less should be monitored closely for grievances..
Timing update (9am to 5pm)
People who come to the Indian Embassy in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania have to stay outside the embassy gate from 6 AM till evening under the hot sun to get a visa. We need to be more humane and considerate.
Dear Modiji, Most of the Indians and our kids consider you as our super hero, then I wonder why is it taking so long for our SUPERHERO to come and support our 450000 Indians in USA. Most government and their embassy in USA are busy helping their own citizens get NEW passport and important documents from home country so they can benefit by President Obama's immigration executive actions (DAPA and DACA) in MAY 2015. I travelled to Tanzania (Dar Es Salaam) for work and saw the plight of the People of Indian Origin to come to India, Many of them get married to bride from India mostly from Gujarat. They have to go to embassy only 3 days before the travel to obtain visa. The officials are inefficient. This is disrespect to the people of Indian origin. Many people they had to change travel plans due to visa issues. This has to be improved. We need to show respect to people and their love for India.
Dear Prime Minister Modiji, Indian identity is the single most important issue effecting 450000 undocumented Indians living in USA. Most of them may qualify to apply for Work Permit and Social Security Card in MAY 2015 under the new President Obama immigration action called DAPA and DACA. We request our Indian Government to issue Indian Passports, Birth Certificates, and other important documents they may need to BENEFIT FROM DAPA IN MAY 2015.
