Ministry for Development of North Eastern Region
The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) focuses on the socio-economic development of the North Eastern Region (NER) through coordinated policy planning, infrastructure development, and effective project implementation. It acts as the nodal Ministry for matters relating to the Eight North Eastern States and facilitates balanced and inclusive regional growth.
The Ministry monitors and supports key infrastructure projects in sectors such as connectivity, power, water resources, health, education, and tourism. It also oversees the implementation of the North Eastern Council (NEC) and other central schemes aimed at accelerating development in the region. Through focused interventions and inter-ministerial coordination, the Ministry works to reduce regional disparities and unlock the economic potential of the North Eastern States.
