Education has the power to transform the lives of poor rural women who enter the workforce to support their families after marriage. A special scheme for women—modeled after the 'PMKVY' and focused on the 'Recognition of Prior Learning'—should be launched in universities under the Prime Minister's name. Providing formal recognition for the informal learning they have acquired in key sectors like textiles would increase the opportunities for these women to easily become graduates
