Culture Segment Competition on Patriotism

As part of the Independence Day Celebrations - 2026, a Cultural Segment (Singing/Dancing/Poem Recitation) on the theme of Patriotism is organized by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) in coordination with MyGov. The initiative aims to promote patriotism while creating awareness about the rich cultural heritage, traditions and diversity of the North Eastern Region of India.

Theme: Patriotism

Participants may present a song, dance performance, or recitation based on the theme of Patriotism, highlighting the spirit of national unity, pride, sacrifice, and the contributions of the North Eastern States to nation-building.

Evaluation Criteria

Winners will be selected based on the evaluation of entries by the designated Screening Committee of the Ministry of DoNER. The Committee will evaluate the Culture Segment performances on the basis of the following criteria, and its decision shall be final and binding and shall not be subject to challenge through any mode:

1. Relevance to the cultural theme
2. Authentic representation of cultural traditions and heritage
3. Creativity and originality in presentation
4. Performance skills, expression, and engagement
5. Coordination, teamwork, and overall presentation quality
6. Appropriate use of costumes, music, and other elements contributing to the overall impact

Rewards: 
1. Top 10 winners of the competition will be awarded with the certificates.
2. Three winners will be selected from the Eight North Eastern States for exciting prizes and opportunities to witness the Independence Day Celebrations on 15th August 2026 at the Red Fort, New Delhi.
