As part of the Independence Day Celebrations - 2026, a Painting Contest is organized by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) in coordination with MyGov. The contest aims to create awareness about the achievements, developmental initiatives and progress of the North Eastern Region of India.
Paintings are invited under below mentioned Themes:
- Tiranga and the Seven Sisters
- Viksit Bharat, Vibrant North East
- My India, My North East
All entries must be based on the above-mentioned themes and should creatively depict the development, achievements, rich cultural heritage, and aspirations of the North East.
Evaluation Criteria
Winners will be selected based on the evaluation of entries by the designated Screening Committee of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. The Committee will assess the paintings on the basis of the following criteria, and its decision shall be final and binding and shall not be subject to challenge through any mode:
- Creativity and originality
- Relevance to the theme
- Artistic skills and technique
- Colour combination and composition
- Neatness and presentation
- Overall visual impact
Rewards:
1. Top 10 winners of the competition will be awarded with the certificates.
2. Three winners will be selected from the Eight North Eastern States for exciting prizes and opportunities to witness the Independence Day Celebrations on 15th August 2026 at the Red Fort, New Delhi.
