MyGov rolls out Internet Safety Campaign in collaboration with Cert-In and Google: Press Release

The First Round Table on Internet Safety was held at the Department of Electronics and Information and Technology. The event was hosted by MyGov in collaboration with Google and Cert-In. Additional Secretary, DeitY, Shri Tapan Ray chaired the round table, which was attended by Joint Secretary, DeitY, Dr. Rajendra Kumar, CEO MyGov, Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, Representatives from Google India, NCERT, CBSE, Cert-In, the New Media Wing of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

DeitY organized a contest on MyGov inviting citizens to design e-Greetings for Good Governance Day which was celebrated on December 25th, 2014.

A discussion on Digital India with Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister of Communications & IT Dear MyGov members, Thank you for your enthusiastic participation on MyGov! Today MyGov has over 6.5 lakh users from India and abroad, actively participating in discussions and tasks on policy matters put by 18 Government Ministries and Departments, as well as participating in contests. MyGov receives on average about 10,000 posts per week, which are analysed and the key findings are shared with the concerned departments for further analysis and incorporation in their action agenda.

The programme to transform India into a knowledge economy and digitally empowered society now moves a step ahead with thousands of citizens participating in the contest to design a logo for Digital India. The contest received an overwhelming response with more than 7000 entries striving to portray the vision of Digital India which is centred on three key areas, namely providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. The results of the contest will be announced shortly. Although the deadline for new submissions is closed, citizens are invited to vote for various designs till 7th September midnight. The number of likes received for each entry will also be taken into consideration by the jury. The innovative submissions can be viewed here (Logged-in users can view).

PM Modi has often time and again laid emphasis on using technology to overcome issues ranging from farming to governance. The Digital India Group on MyGov is a significant step towards that goal. It's one of the fastest growing groups on the MyGov site with 37,590 members and is open to members who preferences are Digital Technologies which include Cloud Computing and Mobile Applications. The aim of the group is to "Come out with innovative ideas and practical solutions to realise Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a digital India." All you have to do to get started is to register on the site, pick a group of your liking and choose a task listed on the group!
