Smart City Bidhannagar - MyGov Talk

Our City Bidhannagar is a part of Round 2 of the Smart City Challenge. This challenge requires the cities to develop a proposal keeping the citizens at the center. Smart cities aim at improving the quality of life of citizens by providing them with safety and security at all points of time, giving them access to all necessary civic amenities and ensuring culture and environmental preservation.

To seek for citizen’s inputs and effective communication MyGov Talk has been organized:

To be chaired by: Mr. Sabhyasachi Dutta, Mayor Shri, Bidhannagar and Mr. Alokesh Prosad Roy, Municipal Commissioner

Venue: Smart City Hall, Office of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation

Date: May 26, 2016, Thursday

Time: 12:00 noon

Through Smart Cities Mission we aim to:

• Equip the city with state of the art technology solutions where every civic service is readily available on your smart phones as well as on the web
• Provide safety and security to the citizens through the help of CCTV surveillance and central control system.
• Provide the citizens with tele-medicine and m-healthcare services to get easy availability of healthcare services.
• Smart classrooms to improve the education system of the city
• Provide the citizens with both pro-active and re-active responses to an emergency situation or disaster.
• SCADA systems and GIS based mapping systems to supply and distribution of water in the city
• Smart Parking, GPS based bump detection system and single fare card to improve the day to day commuting of the citizens
• Solar power energy generation and bicycle sharing systems and rejuvenation of green spaces to improve the environmental situation and decrease dependence on non-renewable sources of energy
• Establish Digital Signages and mobile app to create a cultural identity of the city as a sports hub
• Setting up e-governance and incubation centers to improve job opportunities to youngsters in the city.
• Introduction of smart bins to improve the waste management system of the city
• We plan to launch various awareness initiatives for the people throughout the city to help them understand their role in the development to a smart city
• We also are converging with national and state level schemes such as ‘Swach Bharat Mission’ and AMRUT etc. to improve the overall quality of infrastructure in the city

We require valuable inputs from citizens at each step of the proposal as it is the people who understand the requirements of their city at a minute level and help in create a better and SMARTER BIDHANNAGAR.
