Talkathon on the Income Disclosure Scheme 2016

In order to spread awareness on the Income Declaration Scheme, 2016, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is organizing “Talkathon” wherein Members of Central Board of Direct Taxes Smt. Rani Singh Nair and Shri S.K Sahai will directly interact with twitterati by answering the questions posted with #AskonIncomeDisclosure. The Talkathon programme is scheduled to be held today i.e. 31st May, 2016 from 7 PM onwards would last for forty minutes. The event will be live streamed on the YouTube channel of I&B Ministry- youtube.com/inbministry (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XolEKPUL90o) live from National Media Centre, New Delhi. The Income Declaration Scheme, 2016 incorporated as Chapter IX of the Finance Act 2016 provides an opportunity to all persons who have not declared income correctly in earlier years to come forward and declare such undisclosed income(s). The scheme shall remain in force for a period of 4 months from 1st June, 2016 to 30th September, 2016 for filing of declarations and payments towards taxes, surcharge & penalty must be made latest by 30th November, 2016. Declarations can be filed online or with the jurisdictional Pr. Commissioners of Income-tax across the country.
