4. Free education and free distribution of textbooks in Government Schools-
through this scheme, text books are available at the gram Panchayat nodal kendras in all districts of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan State Textbook Board has its own distribution Centers, which are located in 33 districts in the state. Registered booksellers make textbooks available at the government affiliated schools and private institutions. In government schools, education is completely free. This is most beneficiaries for girl child. As in a society where discrimination between boy and girl is deep rooted, sometimes parents do not want to spend money on education of girl child.( Male Literacy Rate in raj. 82.51 while female literacy rate is 52.66) No fees, free books, mid day meal …. These are facilities, which encourage them to send their girls to school.
5. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan –
Abhiyan was formally launched in the State in the year 2001-02 as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme. The main objective was to provide educational facility to all children of 6-11 age group in the State. It also includes activities to bridge social, regional and gender gaps with the help of public participation in school management. This program is being implemented in all the districts of the State. Under this program, conversion of Education Guarantee Scheme into primary schools, upgrading primary school to upper primary school, repair and maintenance of primary & upper primary school buildings, training to teachers and the activities relating to quality improvement of the elementary education are being implemented.
Child tracking survey is integral part of this program, which helped to track out of school children and to encourage them join schools or other education centers as anganbari Kendra. Result is decline in proportion of out of school children across all age groups especially girls from 19.6% in 2006 to 14.8% in 2009.

For rajasthan, in year 1991 female literacy rate was 20.44 (lowest in country), which is now 52.66. However, it is not enough, but we can see there is progress, which is result of inclusive effort of state government during the decades.

Schemes of rajasthan government

This scheme was launched in 1998. Under the scheme, the girl students who secure 75% or more marks in the Secondary/Praveshika examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan, Ajmer and continue their studies in class 11th and 12th are awarded Rs. 4000(now 6000) and a certificate. Every year Gargi Awards are distributed at
district head quarters on the occasion of Basant Panchmi. For the year 2011-12, 26078 girls have been awarded worth Rs. 391.17 lakhs. A provision of Rs. 471.00 lakhs had been kept for the year 2012-13.

2. Girls Hostel Scheme
186 blocks of Rajasthan have been identified as Educationally Backward Blocks (EBB). Girls Hostel scheme has been launched to provide better residential facilities to the girls students of economically & social backward section of society. Sanction has been issued by GoI for all 186 blocks. Construction in 62 blocks has been completed and 49 hostels have started. Construction in 63 blocks is on full swing & remaining 61 are under the tendering process.

3. Transport voucher scheme and cycle distribution scheme-
In rural areas to diminish hazards, which a girl child face in day-to-day life while going to school, these schemes are most welcomed. In year 2011-12 approx. 4,31,000 girls got bicycles. Both of these schemes have brought enough confidence among girls as well as their parents, and have provided them a chance to pursue their dream of getting education a little more.
