It has been observed that lack of sanitation facilities has been a major cause for high drop out rates among girl students. The solution to this is to create toilets in schools and at the same time devote resources to maintain them.

1. Outside toilet, one tab, one bucket, one mug should be kept so that the one who is entering can throw water if they find it’s not clean. And this area where this extra tab is, should be open area so that it won’t get used as a toilet. 2. Water avaibility should be good. And every one should be given lesson to keep it clean like home. 3. Teachers should do round checks and should keep penalty for the one who fail to keep it clean. Penalty should be to practically teach others to clean toilets

1. Govt must mandate to build toilets in all schools especially for girls. 2. No. of toilets must be decided according to no. of students. 3. Sanitation & cleanliness of toilets must be taken care of. Toilets must be cleaned periodically everyday, a staff must be appointed specially for cleaning & maintenance purpose. 4. Water supply must be prominent & sufficient water must be there for flushing, hand wash & cleaning toilets. 5. Girls must be instructed to use toilets & pads must be kept there.

5. Create awareness through innovative means and on mass scale of the necessity and desirability of using toilets and proper sanitation. 6. The importance of sanitation and proper upkeep and maintenance of toilets to be included in school curricula. 7. Special sessions on hygiene and cleanliness during menstruation to be conducted for girls.

1. Making it mandatory to have separate toilets for girls and boys in school and include this provision in RTE Act. 2. Revoke licenses of private schools not having toilets. 3. Provide separate funds to government and government aided schools for construction of toilets. 4. Periodic and regular social audits through local NGOs and civil society to ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of toilets.

Toilets are one of the basic needs in human life.It should be built according to the need and different age groups. For old age,it should have better sitting facility,airy, with proper water supply, soaps and clean napkins. For kids,it should be clean,hygeinic,should have easy door lock system,water taps according to their height and a sweeper should be appointed to clean it and control the kids rush.For girls ,it should have proper sanitary system like covered dustbins,napkins,sanitary pads,so

1) Tax exemptions given to religious funds and other charity purposes must be extended for construction of toilets at schools well. 2) Make CSR in the companies act mandatory for construction of toilets in schools for a specific period. 3) In Rural areas VAO and in semi-urban areas DEO must be made accountable for proper maintenance. 4) Link MGNREGA workers for the contruction and proper maintenance of toilets. 5) Solar and Bio toilets can also be constructed as in the case of Gujarat.

Saheb, the government can take clue from BIO TOILETS. Standing example is the BIO TOILET in Chiplun railway station on the Konkan railway. We need to look at it.

1.involve each and every one -individual/institution.2. request each and every kind of media to go on theire own campain / adv for awareness and involve people.3. tcs ,inf started.like that every one should involve.ex:bank branchs sponser many non essential hings , direct them to this way.4. maitainance add one extra gr 4 staff. its worth it , a job created,for safety of small girl child.4. start immediately in war footing, go all out its worth , big changer in terms of human development/girl

Green India, Clean India & Toilets for Girls & its maintenance can be linked to each other, school as a development center should incorporate subjects for practical work related to above, so the involvement, awareness & positive attitude of future youth can be ensured. School performance must be measured by points to actual work done.

I think people should be encouraged to donate at least Rs.1/- into a fund and within a month it will be a huge corpus of at least 1.2 billion which can be utilized for construction and maintenance of toilets for girls in school.
