Purpose
To encourage citizens, particularly students, youth, artists, and creative enthusiasts, to express their patriotism through art while recognizing and celebrating the remarkable contribution of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) towards national security, unity, resilience, and the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. The contest seeks to inspire creativity while fostering greater public appreciation for the role of the CAPFs in nation-building.
Description
As part of the Independence Day Celebrations 2026, the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)—CRPF, BSF, CISF, Assam Rifles, ITBP, SSB, and NSG—in collaboration with MyGov, invite citizens to participate in the "Colours of Freedom – Painting Contest."
Participants are invited to create original artworks based on the theme "CAPFs – Partners in Building Viksit Bharat @2047." The artwork may creatively depict the contribution of the CAPFs towards national security, border management, internal security, disaster response, technological advancement, women empowerment in uniform, humanitarian assistance, environmental protection, national unity, and their role in building a secure, resilient, and developed India by 2047.
This contest provides a unique platform for citizens to honour the courage, sacrifice, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of the CAPFs while showcasing their vision of a strong and prosperous India.

Gratifications
- Top 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners will be awarded Merit Certificates.
- The Top 30 participants, selected on the basis of the prescribed evaluation criteria, may be recommended to the Ministry of Defence for issuance of e-invitations to witness the Independence Day Ceremony-2026 at Red Fort, Delhi, along with one companion (guardian/spouse/relative, etc.), subject to fulfillment of the prescribed conditions and applicable guidelines of the Ministry of Defence.
- Participants recommended for the e-invitation may be required to furnish the requisite personal details and supporting documents as prescribed by the Ministry of Defence.
Important Guidelines
- The painting must be an original creation of the participant.
- Any painting created using Artificial Intelligence (AI), AI-assisted tools, or any form of generative AI shall be summarily disqualified.
- Copied, plagiarized, or copyright-infringing artworks will also be disqualified.
- The artwork should be relevant to the prescribed theme and uphold the dignity and values of the Central Armed Police Forces.
Important Note
It may be noted that all expenses relating to travel, boarding, lodging, food, and other incidental expenses for visiting Delhi to witness the Independence Day Ceremony-2026 at Red Fort shall be borne by the participant and his/her companion. Neither the organizing CAPFs, MyGov, nor the Ministry of Defence shall bear or reimburse any such expenses. However, travel in the Delhi Metro (to and from the ceremony venue) will be provided free of cost upon production of the valid e-invitation at any Delhi Metro Station, as per the applicable guidelines.
