The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

In this logo letter 'd' is a combination of two symbols i.e., improved wi-fi connectivity, improved signal strength designed in the form of a circuit. Letter 'I' shows the integrity, and the flower(asterisk shaped) indicates eco-friendly approach towards technological developments. And hence 'di' in short represents 'Digital India'

The digital India logo depicted in the map is about the nation transforming into a technologically advance country. The three bands in Saffron, white and green are the optical network which has taken digital technology and communication to a new height. The band also denotes Indian tricolour.
