The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

“Empowerment though access” is the philosophy behind this logo. The fist in center represents the empowered Indian citizen. The rays are countless possibilities achievable through the digital revolution. A digital block has been used as a basic design element. The fist, the rays and the tri-colour is created from this block. To maintain the Indian essence, the rays have been designed to resemble the Ashok Chakra. The logo can be used by changing 'Digital' to Hindi or other regional language

Digitization of india is the very need of the hour,as through it there can be a direct participation between people and government.Also as we all know with the coming of digital revolution all over world most of the direct services can be provided digitally!!
