The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

1. The hexagonal network represents the Information technology linking the whole country under the banner of the indian flag imparting knowledge and power to all its citizens.
2. The circuit lines above and below the chakra represents the electronic age and its indegenous advancement the country has made
3. The word ‘digital india’ is firmly connected to each other. This represents its easy access as the name implies to the digital infrastructures.

The font is symbolic of the digital age. The leaf and the stalk represent the growth. Cog-wheels indicate the constant growth and constant motion towards success. The chakra is symbolic of the nation, and the people support the country and the nation in turn supports the people. The representation of integrated circuits indicate the fuel for the growth and development.
