The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

"Digital Connectivity leads to the growth of our people." The Symbol is a tree which is made up of electronic circuit creating people that are digitally connected to each other. The tree indicates growth.The design of the symbol is minimal, clean and easy to adapt in various medias of advertising.

The "D" in orange-golden color of the word Digital is symbol of Logic Gate (AND Gate) which the basic building block of every Microprocessor system. It denotes opening of the "gates" of the administrative system, to each and every citizen of India. The Blue dot in "i" is the Centre (Centre Govt.) which has proper & effective connectivity through WiFi or Internet to every corner of the country. The "@" symbol denotes effective communication with the very last section & citizen of the Nation.
